PS Market Weekly Outlook (March 2, 2026)
I. Focus
February 27: Significant differences remain between the US and Iran in negotiations, increasing market concerns about potential supply risks and driving up international oil prices. NYMEX crude oil futures for April delivery rose $1.81 to $67.02, a 2.78% increase week-on-week; ICE Brent crude oil futures for April delivery rose $1.73 to $72.48, a 2.45% increase week-on-week. China’s INE crude oil futures for April delivery fell $1.90 to 484.3 yuan/barrel, but rose $18.10 to 502.4 yuan/barrel in the night session.
Core logic: Current geopolitical disturbances are leading to a relatively strong outlook for styrene, a raw material, resulting in both cost support and downward pressure. PS market demand is recovering, and market trading is expected to consolidate in line with price increases.

III. Market Outlook
Raw material styrene prices remained relatively strong, providing good cost support. Industry supply has recovered somewhat, but inventory pressure is manageable. Downstream factories are gradually resuming operations, resulting in manageable supply and demand pressures. The PS market is expected to see a slight upward trend in the short term. The price of PVC-modified PS in East China is projected to be 7900-8900 yuan/ton.
